Meet Dr Catherine Casey
LLB BSc (Psych) MBBS M. Med (Metabolic Health)
Catherine was called to study medicine because of an innate desire for knowledge about health and disease prevention. This was on the background of undergraduate degrees in law and psychology with extensive education in experimental research methodology, and scientific and statistical analysis. Her own health challenges led her towards functional medicine because of its depth, complexity and powerful insights for explaining disease and restoring health.
A Light at the end of the tunnel.
After over a decade working in primary care, emergency and hospital settings, Catherine joined well known holistic practitioner Dr Sandra Cabot and continues to assist patients with all aspects of health restoration, autoimmune disease, hormone imbalance, gut health, dietary optimisation, longevity, anti-ageing and regenerative cosmetic medicine. Her favourite advice for patients is trust your body and keep looking for answers until you find them. Her wish for the future is that functional medicine know how and efficacy can blend with traditional medicine and AI to make comprehensive personalised holistic health advice accessible to every human at the lowest possible cost.
My Own Experience
We live in a world where being healthy is becoming more and more of a challenge, and while modern allopathic medicine is necessary for a range of medical issues, it is poorly suited to the chronic lifestyle diseases that are becoming commonplace. Medical school curriculum focuses on pharmacological and surgical solutions and end stage disease management. But what if the disease could be avoided in the first place, or reversed once it begins to appear? I've witnessed this over and over again in my practice.
